What we collect
When you subscribe to the print run, send a message through the contact form, or request a route sketch, we receive the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number if you include it, and the content of your message. We also collect basic technical data automatically, such as browser type, device information, and pages visited, so we can understand which essays and field notes are most useful to readers.
Why we process this data
We use your contact details to confirm subscriptions, answer questions about issues and waypoints, and send occasional updates about new editions. Technical data helps us improve the layout and reading experience, especially on mobile devices where many readers follow the map of documented waypoints. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
Cookies and analytics
Like most editorial sites, we use cookies and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count visits and see which articles are read most. These tools do not track you across other websites. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the archive, though some interactive features may behave differently.
Where data is stored and who helps us
Our hosting provider stores the site and its forms on servers located in the European Union. We rely on a small number of processors for hosting, email delivery, and form handling. Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use your information to provide the service we contract them for. We do not transfer data outside the EU/EEA unless the recipient offers an adequate level of protection under GDPR rules.
How long we keep information
Subscription records are kept for as long as you remain subscribed. Contact form messages are retained for up to 24 months so we can follow up on route questions and interview requests. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised after 14 months. You may ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Under GDPR and applicable Indian law, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in each message. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@norduro.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Honest content, no misleading claims
Norduro does not publish fake endorsements, fabricated testimonials, or misleading urgency. All interviews, field notes, and gear reviews are based on documented trips and named sources. We do not claim affiliation with any official body, brand, or institution unless explicitly stated in the article. If you believe something on the site is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct it promptly.
